Long time Bay Area resident, writer, and social activist Tillie Olsen passed away on January 1 at the age of 94. Olsen published her first short story, I Stand Here Ironing in 1955. Her published works include Tell Me A Riddle, Yonnondio, and Silences.
Do wish I'd met her or had a chance to sit in on a local reading or interview.
